Description

“Like any other A.A. service, the primary purpose of those involved in archival work is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous. Archives service work is more than mere custodial activity; it is the means by which we collect, preserve, and share the rich and meaningful heritage of our Fellowship. It is by the collection and sharing of these important historical elements that our collective gratitude for Alcoholics Anonymous is deepened.”

Responsibilities

  • Collects and preserves historical data pertinent to WAGSA.

  • Shares bits of historical information at area activities.

  • Communicates with Archives committee chair at WAIA to explore opportunities for collaboration and to prevent duplication of efforts.

  • Reviews Archives Area 13 policy and description in the WAGSA Handbook prior to Assembly and proposes recommended to the Assembly

  • Reviews proposed General Service Conference agenda Items pertaining to Archives and makes recommendations to the Delegate

  • Proposes new General Service Conference agenda items pertaining to Archives if deemed necessary
